I can't agree more! I live and work in Thailand, where we have universal health care. Because I have a work permit, I am regarded as Thai with all the privileges except for voting. My medical care is US$1 per visit. I've even had brain surgery for $1. Next week I go in the hospital for knee surgery - $1.
My brain surgeon spoke excellent English - because he grew up in Wisconson - where his father was also a brain surgeon. When I asked why he returned to Thailand I asked him
"Why"?
His answer was "To help my people."
My last American doctor's appointment was about my hurting feet. (I play a lot of sports.) The Doc said "What do you expect. That will be $100 - Goodbye!"
Let's face it, doctors often perform magic - but that doesn't mean they can hold us hostage.
They chose their profession to help those in need. I think Thai doctors (as good or better than American) can give their USA counterparts some advice - your job is to help those in need.

You took the oath!
See you on the water, Ling Yai (Thai for 'Big Monkey') AKA John Caveman Gray
